Enrollment

The Family Education Program is designed to serve parents, guardians and their children age 0-5 years old. Any interested family may enroll. There are no fees or tuition requirements. On occasion, however, there may be a charge for an excursion or a special event. Parents will receive prior notice when that happens. There is no residential restriction to enroll. Nevertheless, preference is given to applicants residing in Blanche Pope Elementary district.

For children enrolled in the Family Education Program, the following is required within two (2) weeks of enrollment:

Verification of updated immunizations for the following:

  • diphtheria
  • tetanus
  • pertussis
  • polio
  • measles
  • rubella
  • mumps
  • hemophilus B influenza


Verification of tuberculosis (T.B.) clearance.

For caregivers, T.B. clearance is also required within two (2) weeks of enrollment. i.e., clear skin test, chest x-ray, or verification from physicians. Individuals who have had active tuberculosis or are currently under treatment may participate in Family Literacy when T.B. is no longer contagious. Verification of non-contagious state is required
